It never ends...

Mom is in the hospital with appendicitis. Was at the hospital on Monday with pain, they said it was her kidney. Got worse throughout the week, was rushed back on Friday, told her appendix ruptured. Infection has spread throughout her body and too dangerous to surgery right now, so treating with heavy meds until she is stable enough. We almost lost her at one point on Friday night. When they can get rid of some of the infection via these potent IV antibiotics, they will be going in to remove her appendix and possibly some/all of her bowel because of the infection. They are expecting her to need a 12 inch vertical incision to remove the abscess and ICU time after surgery.
